"Clinical Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Nursing Practice"

Hear from nurse leaders on how they are utilizing AI to improve patient care. The presentation will feature:

  • Kylie Meyer, assistant professor
  • Nelita Iuppa, executive director and associate chief nursing officer of informatics at the Cleveland Clinic
  • Sarah Knowles, principle project manager at the Quality Institute and co-chair of the Research and Innovation Council at UH Cleveland Medical Center

Free online webinar presented by Sigma Chapters Alpha Mu and Iota Psi.

1.0 contact hours provided through Ursuline College Breen School of Nursing, accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

"Mental Health First Aid"

As a part of 2025 Nurses Week programming, we are pleased to offer virtual Mental Health First Aid training. This course will be taught by:

  • Kristin Gype, instructor
  • Melissa Borowski, interim executive director and University Health and Counseling Services.

Mental health first aid can help you to improve your mental health literacy, increase confidence in helping people in distress, and reduce the stigma around mental health issues. More information can be found online. 

Mental Health First Aid is an early intervention public education program that teaches adults: 

  • How to recognize the signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge.
  • How to listen nonjudgmentally and give reassurance to a person who may be experiencing a mental health challenges
  • How to refer a person to appropriate professional support and services.

All faculty and staff are invited to attend. There is no cost to this course which is divided into two parts: Two hours of virtual pre-work and six hours of virtual classroom work. Continuing Education credit is being sought.

May 8 Noon to 1 p.m.

"Influence of Artificial Intelligence on Nursing: Global Perspectives"

Join us for a presentation by Jeff Capadona, vice provost for innovation and professor at the Case School of Engineering, and a discussion with international alumni from Canada, Costa Rica, Singapore and the US about the impact of AI on nursing education, research and practice. Continuing Education credit is being sought.

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to reshape higher education, Inside Higher Ed is hosting a free webinar to explore how students are using AI and what that means for teaching and learning. Featuring emerging research, case studies, and expert insights, this discussion will help nursing faculty and academic leaders distinguish between AI tools that enhance student learning and those that may hinder it.
