The Hematopoietic Biorepository and Cellular Therapy (HBCT) Shared Resource (SR) Facility’s specific aims are to:

  1. Support the development and implementation of cellular therapy clinical trials. Support is provided in all aspects of clinical cell therapy, from technology transfer of investigator projects to clinically applicable manufacturing and compliance IND enabling validations and IND content, to GMP compliant manufacture and distribution of clinical grade cell products.
  2. Enable access to annotated clinical blood and bone marrow samples to support basic and translational research. An active IRB is maintained to consent and procure blood and bone marrow samples and related case and tissue data from cancer patients and healthy donors for distribution to Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (Case CCC) investigators.
  3. Assist users with specialized hematopoietic cell-based assays. Support is provided to perform a variety of CFU assays to assess hematopoietic progenitor cells as well as to isolate hematopoietic cell subsets such as CD34+ cells from blood and bone marrow samples. Training is also provided to guide individual labs to perform their own assays.
