The Engineering Services Fabrication Center (ESFC) is a dedicated campus machine shop that offers the design and fabrication of unique mechanical devices and complete systems to meet a broad range of research requirements. 

Part of the technical support services for the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Case School of Engineering, the ESFC is your one-stop shop for all fabrication requirements where you can transform your concepts into reality.

Services

Designers and researchers regularly call upon the staff of the ESFC for expert assistance in furthering their research. Services are available to faculty, staff, students and individuals throughout the Case Western Reserve community.

Our streamlined billing system minimizes paperwork, allowing more focus on the project.

Our knowledgeable staff provide guidance to make the manufacturing process smooth and efficient, and can assist you from design inception to fabrication.

Custom Machining

The ESFC offers a modern machine shop that is fully equipped and staffed with experienced toolmakers qualified in the design and fabrication of custom laboratory apparatus.
A full array of CNC and conventional machine tools allow state of the art jig and fixture design, fabrication, and implementation.
We can assemble your project and can deliver anywhere on campus. Onsite laboratory integration can also be requested.

Welding

Comprehensive welding (MIG, TIG and silver solder) services are offered along with custom weldment design and fabrication.

High pressure and vacuum requirements are coordinated as a service to our customers. Certification is obtainable for these processes.

Sheet Metal

The ESFC offers custom sheet metal fabrication and welding. Our facility consists of a full array of shears, punches, brakes, and roll mills. We can coordinate water jet cutting and heavy fabrication as a service for our customers.
