Students in two popular specialty tracks in the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing鈥檚 Master of Science in Nursing program presented digital posters at the All-Ohio Midwifery Conference earlier this month.
- Najma Ibrahim, nurse midwifery major, presented on female genital cutting
- Emily Mugler, nurse midwifery major, presented on pelvic floor therapy and sexual dysfunction
- Takiyah Smith, nurse midwifery major, presented on the importance of sexual assault nurse examiners
- Meghan Olson, women's health nurse practitioner major, presented on gender bias and pain
Assistant Professor Mary Franklin, director of the school鈥檚 Nurse Midwifery and Women鈥檚 Health Nurse Practitioner programs, said exposure to professional conferences and research鈥攚hether online or in-person鈥攊s important for students鈥 growth and development in the professional realms.
鈥淚t allows the students an opportunity to interact and network with advanced practice nurses and students from other locations and programs,鈥 she said. 鈥淎nd it showcases the quality of scholarship our students bring to the profession.鈥
